What

In Palau’s pleasantly warm equatorial climate, year round temperatures
average 82°F (27°C). Average annual rainfall is 150 inches. Although
rain falls more frequently between July and October, there is still a lot
of sunshine, so it’s good to pack both a raincoat and sun protection.
As Palau is located outside the typhoon zone, typhoons are rare. Comfortable,
casual and summer clothing are worn throughout the year. In town and in
outlying villages, swimsuits and short shorts are not acceptable.
Dining
and Nightlife
Koror offers a wide selection of international cuisine, featuring restaurants
that serve Palau, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Korean, American, Thai, and
Italian dishes. Fresh local seafood is the specialty at most restaurants.
A variety of nightclubs and hotels feature local entertainment, ranging
from traditional Palauan dance to lively Palauan bands.
Shopping
Palau is famous for carved wooden storyboards recounting ancient legends
and fine pandanus weaving as well as unique postage stamps and contemporary
paintings and prints. Please support local Palauan artists, who will explain
the intrinsic value of their crafts.

Most community have small mom and pop stores, where you can find everything from canned goods to lanterns, fishing tackle to betel nut, and hand-printed fabric sewn locally into the style of our choice.
